To Starbuck Or Dunk Donuts

The eternal debate has arisen again. This debate is of such epic proportions that I fully suspect a feature length Michael Moore documentary focused on the debate: Starbucks coffee vs. Dunkin Donuts coffee for the morning pick me up.

It's a bit taboo to discuss in mixed company. Both sides of the debate has very passionate supporters who often look down upon the opposing view. But it is a debate that we need to have, so I will brave these caffeinated waters and post up some thoughts on the pros and cons of both.

Pros of Dunkin Donuts

Affordable
Quick
Lack of Pretentiousness
Guaranteed Interaction with various international cultures
Sweetened without a hint of actual coffee flavor

Cons of Dunkin Donuts

Enough sugar to kill a family of rats
Having to enter a Dunkin Donuts
Homeless people urinating in the corner of the shop
Lure of delicious breakfast items

Pros of Starbucks

Solid, strong coffee
SB Cup shows you're better than everyone else
Ability to look at DD coffee drinkers with open disdain
Ability to pretend you know anything about coffee by saying things like "Oh, you have Sumatra today! I'll take that!"

Cons of Starbucks

Lines of douchebags
You're in said line, thus...
Employees laden with Entitlement issues
Pumpkin bread of heavenly proportions and magical stomach growing abilities (seasonal)
Ridiculous "indie" music
Hordes of people "working" on laptops (ie, surfing for porn and torrent files)

So there we have it. I refuse to say which side I'm on, as I fear for my life if I pick a side. I love the Sharks and the Jets! But feel free to let me know what side you've picked, but I can't be liable for any retaliation from the opposing viewpoint.
