Straight Boy In A Gay Man's World

Last night, after playing a spot of my new gaming addiction (Age of Conan), I decided to swing over to Hulu and see what gay-oriented programming they had to watch.  I had written about Hulu for Homotron awhile ago, and played around with it for awhile during it's beta phase, and while I like the service in general, the offerings were limited.

That said, I wasn't expecting much to pop up when I punched the word "Gay" into the search box.  The typical Bravo shows and Kathy Griffith clips came up, even a spot from the millionaire dating club chick explaining gay dating as if she was a 'mo, but something else caught my eye: an episode called "Straight Man in a Gay World," one of the episodes of 30 Days.

The premise is that a conservative Christian boy was transplanted to The Castro and lived with a gay man for 30 Days, and, yep, you guessed it, hilarity ensues!  With the joking aside, the episode was pretty good, and although it seems to me that Spurlack (the creator/narrator of the show) is pretty pro-gay biased, he at least attempted to present a unbiased running editorial.

I've got the whole episode below, for those interested and those that have a spare 50 minutes on their hands.  I definitely think it's worth a watch, if you haven't seen it already.  I do have to say though, before you watch it, that Hulu managed to piss me off with this simply because they've deemed the show "for mature audiences," for no other apparent reason than the talk of the homos....

Damn you! You should summarize so I don't have to watch it!

No! No summary for you! ;)

Christian boy meets the gays. The gays shock and awe him. He fights against a Gay Church. He dances on the bar with his shirt off with his best friend from rural Michigan in gay bar. He realizes its not ok to hate people when the gay preacher and the old folks turn the tables on him. His family thinks he's now a freak when he gets home and doesn't want to witch hunt the homos.
